Behind the surging lofty waves

Or beneath the slightly moist sands    

There lie some sweet enduring lays

That converse with every lonely soul.

 

Foot prints on the wet sand

Before being swept away by the breaking wave

Pleaded for a patient ear

To narrate their impressive stories.

 

Meanwhile, a long tide

Kissed my feet and rolled over

Introducing the warmth of a moist touch.

 

I saw some shells smiling pleasantly.

As I started gleaning them one by one

I heard your voice

Asking “are you harvesting smiles?”

 

Father!

Whenever I come to beach, thence,

You show up in my thoughts.

తీరంలో తీపిమాట

 

ఉవ్వెత్తునలేచే అలల చాటునో

తడిపొడిగా ఉన్న తీరంలోని ఇసుకలోనో

కొన్ని ఊసులున్నాయ్

అవి ప్రతి ఏకాంతంతోనూ కొన్ని కబుర్లు చెప్పాయ్.

 

నడిచిన ముద్రపడి

అలలకు చెదిరిపోయే అడుగులుకొన్ని

కథచెబుతాం కాస్సేపు కూర్చోమన్నాయ్.

ఉరుకుతూ ఉన్న అల ఒకటి

కాళ్ళపైకొచ్చి

తడిస్పర్శను పరిచయంచేసి పోయింది.

గవ్వలుకొన్ని నవ్వుతూ కనిపించాయ్

ఒక్కొక్కటీ ఏరి చేతిలో వేసుకుంటుంటే

నవ్వులుపోగేస్తున్నావా అంటూ

వెనకనుండి నీ మాటలు వినిపించాయ్

 

నాన్నా!

ఇకపై సముద్రాన్ని చూసినప్పుడల్లా

నువ్వే గుర్తొస్తావ్!
