Death Indeed… Afsar, Telugu, Indian

Death is not
Starvation
Neither Tsunami
Nor cessation of heart beat…

When a promise made hides behind equivocation
When a profile coldly vanishes into the back, or
When a man is banished into eternal silence…
That is … a veritable death.

Murders
Suicides
Abortions
Are not death.

When the cherished faith you so covetously held
Mercilessly bites and hurts you deep

When an unfamiliar hand
Turns into a murderous knife
By pinning a wound to the heart like a rose

That… that is death indeed.

నిజంగా మరణం
—

ఆకలో
వుప్పెనో
ఆగిన గుండె చప్పుళ్ళో
కాదు మరణమంటే.
ఒక మాట నిలువునా చీలిన చోట
ఒక దృశ్యం నిర్లిప్తంగా నిష్క్రమించిన చోట
ఒక మనిషి నిశ్శబ్దంలోకి వెలివేయబడిన చోట
నిజంగా మరణం.

హత్యలో
ఆత్మహత్యలో
భ్రూణహత్యలో
కాదు మరణమంటే.

వెంట వచ్చిన విశ్వాసం నిర్దాక్షిణ్యంగా
హృదయాన్ని కొరికి పుండు చేసినప్పుడూ

ఒక గాయాన్ని గుండెకి గులాబీగా గుచ్చి
ఒక పరిచిత హస్తం
మృత్యుఖడ్గంగా రూపెత్తిన ప్పుడూ

నిజంగా మరణం.

    అదిరింది లాంటి పిచ్చి పదాలు పెట్టదల్చుకోలేదు. పరిచిత హస్తమే మృత్యు ఖడ్గంగా మారటమే మరణం. నిజమే.విశ్వాసమే వెన్నులో బాకై దిగటం మరణం. ఇలా ఓ మనిషి రోజూ అనేక పర్యాయాలు మరణిస్తాడు. పాపకర్మ సిద్ధాంతంలో నిజమెంతో. కానీ పాపులు చిరాయువులే.

      Somrtimes more than the physical death, this kind of cruelty is a veritable death. Real death not only puts full stop to our existence but also blesses us by snapping all our troubles, grief and agony; this kind of death only extends them for the rest of our lives… making the death sentence evem more prolonged and painful.
