Camaraderie with the ticking of wall clock once more.
Over the window curtains,
Tales totter among the shadows of leaves eclipsing the sun.
Watching me standing behind the glass door
A restless squirrel runs all over the veranda.
With the metric of distances, there flies a plane overhead.
Not occasionally, but more often,
I feel like announcing to the welkin and the vale:
“For me to remain what I am,
I must be a part, however little be, of you”.
***
Spinning a few pencils of rays around fingers
Humming some animated tunes over the dawn;
If per chance at noon the sky is overcast
Greeting the raining memories of the past;
Plodding homeward at evening break
Gleaning few starlets in the cup of hands;
Maybe all the love songs of the world kite-fly in moonshine
But, stashing them all under the pillow only to return onto white paper…
Who said loneliness is not a state of wonder?!
***
I am just watching those waves meticulously
Rearranging every grain of sand to order;
And as the dry powdery sand settling
Into a thin film seem teeming with life
Tips of fingers enter into
Cryptic conversation with the wet margins;
Studying the dialect of the sand,
I am trying to write my name;
The tussle between the sky and the sea
Is audible in the backdrop of resounding conch;
Still,
What a pleasant feeling it is
To reward her with few footprints,
collecting the cowry encountering my feet!

Entering the void of helplessness is an intermission.
The thoughts that rage then are woolly and nebulous.
Like the urge to recall you after you have just taken leave,
Like a sudden flash of memory that stalls you
As you hear a song wafting over a garden,
Like the curls of hair hiding behind ears
Slipping from the grip of cool breeze,
Roaming like a span of wing now,
Then like brim of water the next moment,
Dancing like the fingers on the keys of flute thereafter,
And like a procession at the great chariot festival
But finding myself ultimately…
How sweet would it be to break like a dawn tomorrow
Leaning over the last streak of light like a foetus today!
