Solitude or Loneliness? … Manasa Chamarti

Even amidst a large gathering

This loneliness hurts me deep;

Even as I go in search of solitude

A vague idea treads on my trails.

Whole world is asleep… excepting me,

Even the capering stream takes rest, suspending its giggles,

The recent agitation amidst the foliage is absent, and

There is no trace of the warmth of the day… in the air.

The autumnal cloud follows the night-veil

Across the sky-line, and

Flaunting its brilliance under the moonbeams

Laughs in its sleeve, watching me gloomy.

Night melts before my very eyes

The stars disappear to different worlds

As the singular witnesses to the struggle within

Letters stream across the sheet like this.

Born and brought up in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, and a student of V R Siddhartha College of Engineering there, Manasa Chamarti is an IT professional with eight years of experience. She is the team-leader now and has moved to Bangalore recently.

“Madhumanasam (http://www.madhumanasam.in/), her blog which she has been running since 22nd March 2010, is a record of her fine poetic sensibilities.

“I never knew when I was drawn to literature or whose poetry had drawn me to it, but I know for sure I became her subject and since been drenched in its showers.  As for me, I feel this is one way to cherish every moment of our lives,” she says rather modestly.

ఏకాంతమో…ఒంటరితనమో..

.

వంద మంది నడుమ ఉన్నా 

ఒంటరితనమేదో బాధిస్తుంది

ఏకాంతాన్ని వెదుక్కుంటూ వెళ్తున్నా

అస్పష్టమైన ఊహేదో వెన్నాడుతుంది.

నేను తప్ప లోకమంతా విశ్రమిస్తుంది

సెలయేరు గల గలలాపి నిద్రపోతుంది

ఆకుల్లో ఇందాకటి అలజడి కనపడదు

ఈ గాలిలో పగలున్న వేడి జాడ తోచదు

శరన్మేఘం తన నలుపు చీరను

ఆకాశం మీద ఆరేసుకుంటుంది

వెన్నెల వలువల్లో తాను వెలిగిపోతూ

నల్లబడ్డ నన్ను చూసి నవ్వుకుంటుంది

నిశీధి నిశ్శబ్దంగా నా ముందే కరిగిపోతుంది

నక్షత్రాలింకో లోకానికి వెళ్ళిపోతున్నాయి

లోలోని సంఘర్షణకు సాక్షిగా . . . . .

అక్షరాలిక్కడిలా పరుగులిడుతున్నాయి.

    నిజమే స్వామి గారూ. ముఖ్యంగా “శరన్మేఘం తన నలుపు చీరను ఆకాశం మీద ఆరేసుకుంటుంది ” అన్న చోట ఈ స్వాతంత్ర్యం తీసుకోవలసి వచ్చింది. శరన్మేఘానికీ, ‘ నల్లచీరకీ ‘ పొత్తుకుదరదు కదా అనిపించింది ముందు నాకు. అదే సందేహాన్ని మానసగారితో వెలిబుచ్చాను. ఆవిడ ఇచ్చిన సమాధానం కి అనువుగా దాన్ని మార్చేను. ఆవిడ ఇచ్చిన చక్కని సమాధానం ఇది: అటు చీకటిపడడమూ, ఇటు శరన్మేఘం ఆకాశాన్ని ఆవరించడమూ జరుగుతున్నాయి. ఆ చీకటిపడడము ఎలాగుందంటే శరన్మేఘం తన నల్లచీరని ఆకాశం మీద ఆరేసుకుంటున్నట్టు ఉంది. తర్వాత చంద్రుడు వచ్చేడు. వగైరా వగైరా…
