my heart burdened with your memories
has spilled an equal volume of tears through eyes…
Your death
has made me more inert
than working up an equal and opposite reaction.
Did Newton go wrong, for a change?
Or, your melting into the void
has made an exception to his principle ?
The rational mind
has searched for the reason behind heart’s mien;
Looking for solace,
it tried to measure the interminable vacuum.
The flames on your pyre flared high…
and to douse the heat,
films of cloud gathered round my eyes.
I sat there half-naked with streaming tears.
Then I realized:
How badly needs a wailing man his shirt.

నువ్వెళ్ళిపోయిన చర్య
నన్ను జఢుణ్ణి చేసిందేగానీ
ప్రతిచర్యకు పురికొల్పలేదు
న్యూటన్ సూత్రం తప్పిందా?
లేక…
నీలేమి శూన్యంలో
సూత్రమే మారిపోయిందా!

తర్కం తెలిసిన మెదడు
మనసు పోకడకు
హేతువు కోరింది
నీ శూన్యాన్ని…
కనీసం కొలిచైనా
సాంత్వన పొందే
దారి వెదికింది
నీ చితి మటలు ఎగసాయి
ఆ కాల్చేవేడిని చల్లారుస్తూ
నాకళ్ళ మబ్బులు కమ్ముకున్నాయ్
వర్షించే కళ్ళతొ
అర్థనగ్నంగా
నేను కూర్చునే ఉన్నాను
అప్పుడు తెలిసింది…
కన్నీరుకార్చే మగాడికి షర్టెంత అవసరం అని.
