Everyone lives on his own
carrying overhead
his own firmaments,
dragging body with one hand
and life with another,
Poor chap! He is so innocent.
just breathing life
jettisoning all cares.
He entertains no fears
of ‘how to live?’
He doesn’t hurry,
veils no grief,
never burns with envy,
Or, never falters
missing his own footfalls
Never accuses the world
Nor commits suicide.
strangely,
he enjoys everything,
even his grief.
He yields
to no fancies
And to illusions.
Making each experience a steppingstone
He steadily climbs up
A man so confident of himself,
Loves himself, and
A self-exile.

Dr. Bandi Satyanarayana
Dr. Bandi Satyanarayana is a Senior Announcer at AIR Visakhapatnam by profession but is a poet by passion. He has ten volumes of poetry to his credit already. His biography of Sri Puripanda Appalaswamy was published by Visalandhra Publishers. His radio play on the lives of fishermen titled “Darijere Daari (The way to reach ashore) won AIR’s Annual National Award. And his long poem “Punarapi JananaM (Cycle of Birth…)” was well received in poetry circles. He also wrote a five-footed Satakam (a centum of poems) titled “Tamasoma Jyotirgamaya (Lead Kindly Light).

అందరూ వాళ్ళ వాళ్ళఆకాశాల్ని నెత్తిన పెట్టుకొనిబతుకుతుంటారు
ఒక చేత్తో దేహాన్ని
మరో చేత్తో జీవితాన్ని
ఈడ్చుకుంటూ పోతుంటే
ఇతనెవరోఅమాయకుడిలా వున్నాడు
రవంత గాలి పీల్చుకునిబతికేస్తున్నాడు
ఇతను బతకడానికిభయపడడు
కంగారు పడడు
దుఃఖాన్ని కప్పుకోడు
ఈర్ష్యతో కాలిపోడు
పాదాల్ని కోల్పోయి తప్పుటడుగులు వేయడు
లోకాన్ని తిట్టి పోసేయేడు
విసిగి అసువులు బాయడు
అన్నిటనీఆస్వాదిస్తాడు
దుఃఖాన్నీ కూడా
ఇతను వూహలకిలోనవని వాడుభ్రమలకి లొంగని వాడుఇతను అనుభవాలనుమెట్లుగా చేసుకుంటూఒక్కొక్కటిగా ఎక్కిపోతుంటాడు ఇతను తనకి తాను బాగా తెలిసినవాడుఇతను తనని తానే ప్రేమించుకున్నవాడుఇతనొక స్వాంతరవాసి.. బండి సత్యనారాయణ
