ఓ గులాబీ! ఆమె సమయాన్నీ, నా సమయాన్నీ
వృథా చేసే ఆమెకి పోయి చెప్పు,
ఇప్పుడు ఆమెను నీతో సరిపోలుస్తున్నానని
ఆమెకి తెలుసు గనుక
ఆమె ఎంత అందంగా మనోహరంగా ఉంటుందో!
ఆమె సౌందర్యాన్ని తిలకించడాన్ని నిరసించే
ప్రాయంలో ఉన్న ఆమెకు చెప్పు
నువ్వేగాని మనిషిజాడలేని
ఎడారిలో పుట్టి ఉంటే
నిన్ను కీర్తించేవాళ్ళు లేక సమసిపోయేదానివని.
వెలుగుపొడ సోకని ఎంతటి అందానికైనా
విలువ అల్పమని చెప్పు
ఆమెని నలుగురిలోకీ రమ్మను
ఆమెను అందరూ కోరుకోడాన్ని సహించమను
ఆమెని పొగిడితే సిగ్గుపడొద్దను.
అన్ని అపురూపవస్తువుల్లాగే
ఆమెనీ సమసిపోనీ
అది నిన్ను చూసి నేర్చుకోమను
అందంగా మనోహరంగా ఉండేవన్నిటికీ
జీవితం ఎంత క్షణికమో తెలుసుకోనీ

Tell her that wastes her time and me,
That now she knows,
When I resemble her to thee,
How sweet and fair she seems to be.

And shuns to have her graces spied,

In deserts where no men abide,

Small is the worth
Of beauty from the light retired:
Bid her come forth,
Suffer herself to be desired,
And not blush so to be admired.

The common fate of all things rare
May read in thee;
How small a part of time they share
