కానీ ఎప్పుడో, ఎలాగో చెప్పలేను:
ఆ తలుపు దాటిన తర్వాత పచ్చని పచ్చిక
దాని ఘాటైన సువాసనా,
ఆ నిట్టూర్పుల చప్పుడూ, తీరం వెంట దీపాలూ పరిచయమే.
ఒకప్పుడు నువ్వు నా స్వంతం,-
ఎన్నాళ్ళ క్రిందటో చెప్పమంటే చెప్పలేను:
కానీ, ఆ పిచ్చుకలు ఎగురుతున్నపుడే
నీ మెడ అటుతిరిగింది,
తెలియని తెర ఒకటి నీపై పడింది- నాకు తెలుసు అదంతా గతమని.
అప్పుడుకూడా ఇలాగే ఉండేదా?
సుడితిరుగుతూ ప్రవహించే కాలం
మనజీవితాలతో పాటు మన ప్రేమనీ తిరిగి ఇచ్చి
మృత్యువును ఎదిరించి అయినా సరే
ఒక పగలూ రాత్రికీ మరొకసారి ఆనందాన్ని ప్రసాదించ రాదా?

Sudden Light
I have been here before,
But when or how I cannot tell:
I know the grass beyond the door,
The sweet keen smell,
The sighing sound, the lights around the shore.
You have been mine before,—
How long ago I may not know:
But just when at that swallow’s soar

Some veil did fall,—I knew it all of yore.
