No matter who he is
He speaks only the language of war.
War is now a pronoun for everyone.
Their prologue is war.
Their epilogue is war.
For that matter, every word they utter smacks of war.
When war and invasion are their way of life
You can’t expect them to be conscious
Of people’s struggles for existence.
When market is made a synonym for society
Whose interests would war keep
Than that of expanding marketeers
And their piling up capital?
When everything is turned into commodity,
Welfare lies on its death-bed;
And all wealth gets lodged in 1% of hands
They hail these war slogans just
To snip the budding questions in the minds
And to stifle the sharp, eddying existential issues;
These cries of war are only to spread
Ignorance, inertia and intolerance across the society.
After all! This is a war within the borders.
So they morph their ammunition…
A spiritless patriotism
Hitherto-never-thought-of honor
A religion not their own
And people dissimilar to them…
the insurmountable walls to build
and an interminable insecurity …
They are now the latest munition inventory.
Making democracy the Accused No. 1
Everybody makes a promise of war
It is up to the people now to decide
Whether they want to become the hired guns of the battle
Or midwives to oversee a hard labour to deliver the new order.
