మృత్యుముఖంలోంచి బయటికొచ్చినదగ్గరనుండి,
దాని భీకరత్వాన్ని, భయాన్నీ చూసి ఉండడం చేత
జీవితం ఇప్పుడు నాకు ప్రాణప్రదం అయింది
అది లేకపోవడం అంటే ఏమిటో గ్రహించడం చేత!
ఇప్పుడు బాధలు బాధించవు,చింతల చింత లేదు,
అన్నీ పోగొట్టుకోవడమంటే ఏమిటో తెలిసేక.

నేను మృత్యుముఖంలోంచి బయటికొచ్చిన దగ్గరనుండీ
మృత్యువు నిత్యమూ నన్నంటి తిరుగుతున్న కొద్దీ
ఓహ్, ఏమి చెప్పను! ప్రపంచం చాలా విశాలమయింది
మృత్యువును దగ్గరగా చూసిననాటినుండి!
నా సమయం ఇప్పుడు చాలా అపురూపమైనది
ఎందుకంటే కాలం నిలిచిపోవడమంటే ఏమిటో తెలిసు గనుక

నేను మృత్యుముఖంలోంచి బయటికి వచ్చిన తర్వాత
నాకు ఆ కాళ రాత్రి అనుభవం అయిన తర్వాత
నా మనసంతా వెలుగుతో నిండిపోయింది
నాకు మృత్యువు అవగతం అయింది కనుక.
ఆహా ఏమా చీకటి! నా కళ్ళు తెరిపించింది.
ఏమా మృత్యువు! నా జీవితం నాకు ప్రసాదించింది.
