Either in the wakes of those surging waves

or buried in the slightly wet sands on the shore

there lie some hushed legends.

which commune freely with every solitude.

The imprints of few footprints

erased by the sweeping waves

pleaded for attention to listen to their story.

A violent wave

which girdled my feet before receding

had introduced me the feel of moistness.

Some shells seemed giggling.

As I collected them one by one into my hand

I heard your voice from behind asking:

Are you gleaning peels of laughter?

Father! From hence,

whenever I look at the Sea, you come to mind.

తీరంలోని తీపిమాట
.

ఉవ్వెత్తునలేచే అల్లలచాటునో
తడిపొడిగా ఉన్న తీరంలోని  ఇసుకలోనో
కొన్ని ఊసులుంటై
అవి ప్రతి ఏకాంతంతోనూ కొన్ని  కబుర్లు చెప్పాయ్.

నడిచిన ముద్రపడి
అలలకు చెరిగిపోయే అడుగులు కొన్ని
కథచెబుతాం కాసేపు కూర్చోమన్నాయ్

ఉరుకుతూ ఉన్న అల ఒకటి
కాళ్ళపైకొచ్చి
తడిస్పర్శను పరిచయం చేసి పోయింది.

గవ్వలు కొన్ని నవ్వుతూ కనిపించాయ్
ఒక్కొక్కటీ ఏరి చేతిలోవేసుకుంటుంటే
నవ్వులు పోగేస్తున్నావా అంటూ
వెనకనుండి నీ మాటలు వినిపించాయ్

నాన్నా!
ఇకపై సముద్రాన్ని చూసినపుడల్లా నువ్వే గుర్తొస్తావ్.
