It won’t take a wink thro’ the night.

At the day break…

It comes carrying news

On each page,

as

Crisp as a deep-fried Papad,

Astringent as Neem leaves chutney,

Round as black-gram bolus,

Resinous as sesame candy.

It sleeps

For the whole day.

There will be cobwebs

On every one of its pages

And in each cobweb you find

Fossilized spiders.

ఉదయాన్నే పేజీ పేజీకి
వేయించిన అప్పడాల్లాంటివి
వేపాకు పచ్చడిలాంటివి
సున్నుండల్లాంటివి
జీడి పాకంలాంటివి
వార్తలు పట్టుకొస్తుంది.

తెల్లారితే ఇది ఇక
నిద్రే పోతుంది

పేజీ పేజీకి
సాలె గూళ్ళే ఉంటాయి
సాలె గూళ్ళల్లో
చచ్చిన సాలీళ్ళు.
