When the Heart Takes over… BVV Prasad, Telugu, Indian Poet
.
Why do we witness those rare drops of tear
in a mother’s eyes when her son,
who constantly chafes at her for nothing,
touches her feet for a blessing;
.
Why do tears stream out from her pale eyes
when you sincerely apologise your wife
pleading guilty for the hurt;
.
Why do the eyes of a father get bleared
when he recalls the loveful talk of his young kids
who display rare concern by saying:
“Not now, daddy, they might cost more”;
.
Why a wet film of love flutters
like moist wind, between them,
when a taciturn father keeps awake for his son
who travels distances to reach home past midnight;
.
Why do our eyes get wet,
and we feel a lump in our throat
when we notice those rare acts of humanity?
or, when someone acknowledges
that vanishing creed of good deeds;
or, when we win over,
and help others triumph over
hearts with graceful gestures?
.
Why life becomes so serene
and an alluvial silence embraces two people
every time when heart prevails over
their intellectual aberrations and,
apparent physical strengths
melding them into a trail of tears;
.
Maybe… then, we are
catching up with ourselves delving deep;
or, looking at our revealing spiritual selves
rinsing off all temporal sullies;
or, awakening into our godly path
which we long deserted and digressed from.
