When the doors to land-ways are shut

Ships draw High Water-ways on seas…

A drizzle develops into a storm

Farmers turn to partners in agriculture,

And the partners, in turn, to farm-workers,

Never shall ships become carts  ⁴

A Saint walks a marathon on foot to hold

A handful of sea salt in his fist…

Properties would be divided

There would be no distinction between white and black…

Old Cities and Chundur’s suffer the consequences.

The dialogue between the past and the present continues

No traces of the mud-houses shall remain

However,

The shadow under the lamp

Continues drawing hieroglyphics.

1 Hymns of Universal Being

2 This is the thumb of Ekalavya, a tribal, which was unjustly demanded as Gurudakshina (a respectful payment tendered to teacher by the student in appreciation of his imparting knowledge) by Drona . The irony of it was that Drona had never taught Ekalavya anything but was not ashamed to ask for it. What all Ekalavya learnt was by way of watching Drona teaching his students.

3 Prabhanda period in Telugu language is the golden era of the reign of Krishnadevaraya (1509-1529) a southern Hindu kingdom about the river Tungabhadra

4 Ships becoming carts and carts becoming ships is a Telugu  idiom to indicate the vagaries of fate turning the rich to poor and the poor to rich.

హరప్పా శిధిలాలు వినపడీ వినపడనట్లు మాటాడతాయి

ఆర్యగణాల సామూహిక గానాల్లో

గంగామైదానాలు మహాజనపదాలుగా కువకువలాడతాయి

పురుష సూక్తం నుం చి జారిపడిన

భూమిపుత్రుడి మీద నించి

మూడుపాదాలు బలంగా నడిచివెళ్ళిన చిహ్నాలు కనిపిస్తాయి

దండకారణ్యంలో

ఒక తెగిపడ్డ బొటనవేలు దొరుకుతుంది

తత్త్వ చింతనలో

మధ్యేమార్గం ఒక్కటే తధాగతుడిపాదముద్రలు మోస్తుంది

థమ్మపథంలో అశోకుడు శిలాశాసనమై నిలుస్తాడు

మహాయానం హీనయానమైన నేపథ్యంలో

అద్వైతం అద్వితీయమౌతుంది

మెడలో గంటకట్టుకుని

పురప్రవేశం చేసిన పంచముడు

గుప్తస్వర్ణాన్ని మలినం చేస్తాడు

ఉన్నదంతాదానం చేసిన చక్రవర్తి

రెండునదుల సంగమస్థలిలో కట్టుబట్టల్తో మిగిలిపోతాడు

సూఫీ మార్మికవాదం

ముసల్మాన్ చక్రవర్తిని యజ్ఞోపవీతమై బంధిస్తుంది

పన్నులు కట్టలేక

పాళెగార్ల దాష్టీకం భరించలేక

రైతులు రత్నాలసీమ పొలిమేరలు దాటిన దృశ్యాన్ని

ప్రభంధాలు పరిఢవిల్లిన పార్శ్వం  కనిపించనివ్వదు.

అంతా అపసవ్యంగానే ఉంటుంది.

ఒక్కడుమాత్రం

ప్రశ్నించి కోపించి దుఃఖించి  శాసించి

పద్యాలల్లుకుంటూ దిశమొలతో సాగిపోతాడు

.

భూమార్గాల తలుపులు మూతపడిన వేళ

ఓడలు సముద్రాలమీద రహదార్లను గీస్తాయి

చిరుజల్లు తుఫానౌతుంది

రైతులు పాలికాపులై పాలికాపులు రైతుకూలీలౌతారు

కానీ ఓడలుమాత్రం బండ్లు కావు.

సెయింట్ ఒకడు నడుచుకుంటూ వెళ్ళి

పిడికెడు సముద్రస్ఫటికాల్ని గుప్పిటపడతాడు

ఆస్తి పంపకాలు జరుగుతాయి

తెలుపుకూ నలుపుకూ తేడా లేకుండా పోతుంది

పాతబస్తీలు చుండూరులు ఫలితాన్ననుభవిస్తాయి

.

గతానికీ వర్తమానానికీ మధ్య సంభాషణ నడుస్తూనే ఉంటుంది

మట్టి ఇళ్ల ఆనవాళ్ళేమీ మిగలవు
