          అన్నిటికన్నా గొప్ప పొరపాటు, అతితెలివిగా పనిచేసినప్పుడు జరుగుతుంటుంది.

          కావ్య రసాధిదేవతలు పొద్దుపొడుపును ఇష్టపడతారు.

 

515. The nearest way to come to glory is to do that for conscience which we do for glory.

 

          కీర్తికి దగ్గరదారి…  కీర్తి కోసం చేద్దామనుకున్నది అంతరాత్మ కోసం చెయ్యడమే.

 

516. The noblest question in the world is: what good I may do in it?

 

           ఈ ప్రపంచంలో అన్నింటికంటే ఉదాత్తమైన ప్రశ్న: ‘బ్రతికుండగా ఈ ప్రపంచానికి నే నేమి చెయ్యగలను?’ అన్నదే.

          ఆ ముదుసలి తన కొడుక్కి ఇచ్చిన సర్వస్వమూ ఇదే: ‘మూర్ఖుడా! పడుక్కో బోయే ముందు నువ్వు దిగంబరంగా పడుక్కో’ అని

           (ఇక్కడ దిగంబరంగా పడుక్కోడమన్నది దేనికి ప్రతీకో వేరే  చెప్పనక్కర లేదు)

 

518.  The painful preacher, like a candle bright, consumes himself in giving others light.

 

           శ్రమించే ఉపాధ్యాయుడు(బోధకుడు), కొవ్వొత్తిలా, ఇతరులకి వెలుగు నివ్వడానికి తాను కరిగిపోతాడు.

 

519. The poor have little, the beggars none, the rich too much, enough not one.

 

          బీదలకి తక్కువ ఉంది;  బిచ్చగాళ్ళకి ఏమీ లేదు;  ధనవంతులకి చాలా ఎక్కువ ఉంది.    కానీ, ఎవరికీ చాలినంత లేదు.

 

520.  The poor man must walk to get meat for his stomach, the rich man to get a stomach to his meat.

 

         పేదవాడు పొట్టలోకి (మాంసాన్ని) సంపాదించడానికి ఎంతో దూరం నడవాలి; ధనవంతుడు తన మాంసం రుచించడానికి (ఆకలి వెయ్యడానికి) ఎంతో దూరం

          నడవాలి.
