ఒక్క గుండెనైనా పగలకుండా ఆపగలిగితే

నా జీవితం వృధా కానట్టే;

ఒక జీవితంలోనైనా కష్టాన్ని తగ్గించగలిగితే,

బాధని ఉపశమింపజెయ్యగలిగితే,

శోషిల్లుతున్న ఒక పక్షినైనా రక్షించగలిగి

దాని గూటికి చేర్చగలిగితే,
