పుర వీధుల్లోని చెట్లు
రోడ్లమీద వాహనాలూ, రైళ్ళ కూతలూ లేకుంటే
జనపథాలపక్కని చెట్లలా,
అంత సుతిమెత్తని, తీయని ధ్వని చేస్తాయి.
వర్షానికి, వాటి నీడలో
తలదాచుకుంటున్న మనుషులు నిస్సందేహంగా
పల్లెల్లోని చెట్లమీద
వాన చేసే సంగీతాన్ని వినగలరు
నగర రణగొణధ్వనికి
మౌనాన్ని వహించే చిన్ని చిగురాకుల్లారా!
పిల్లతెమ్మెర వీచినపుడు నే గమనింఛా,-
మీరెంత చిరుసవ్వడి చేస్తారో.
