ఈ మట్టిలో అపారమైన సారం ఉంది

ఈ నేలలో జవమూ జీవమూ ఉన్నాయి.

పెల్లగిలిన మట్టిలో ఊరటా, ఆకాంక్షలూ దాగున్నాయి;  

అందుకే, నా ఆత్మని ఇందులో విత్తనంలా పాదుకొల్పుతాను

రేపు అది పాటగానో, పువ్వుగానో తిరిగి నను చేరుకుంటుంది.

ఎంతో శాంతగంభీరంగా, స్థిరంగా, అమరికగా ఉండే 

ఈ పుడమిని తల్లిని తిరిగి చేరుకోడం మంచిదని నేనెరుగుదును. 

అది ఎంత నెమ్మదిగా తెలిసీ తెలియనట్లు శ్వాసిస్తుంది!

సువిశాలమూ, సంపన్నమూ అయినా ఆ వక్షము

ఏదో ఒకరోజు మనలనందరినీ దాదిలా సాకవలసిందే.

There Is Strength  In The Soil

.

There is strength in the soil;

In the earth there is laughter and youth.

There is solace and hope in the upturned loam.

And lo, I shall plant my soul in it here like a seed!

And forth it shall come to me as a flower of song;

For I know it is good to get back to the earth

That is orderly, placid, all-patient!

It is good to know how quiet

And noncommittal it breathes,

This ample and opulent bosom

That must some day nurse us all!
