I like more …

The sky

that endlessly stretches its hands

in all direction…

The waters

Whether they overwhelm the banks

or attenuate to a bare ten-feet tributary

but, nevertheless run…

The wheel on the move

even if it were

that of a child’s tricycle …

The nib of a writing pen…

The mote of dust wafted by the wind…

And, even the wall-clock

that runs half an hour behind…

than

a beatless heart

like you.

A Bachelor of Arts in Telugu and English Literature,  Mr. Devipriya is a Journalist, Editor-in-Chief, Publisher  for many reputed Newspapers;  Producer, Script and Content writer, Creative consultant  and Director for many documentaries for HMTV, Gemini etc and many ad agencies;  besides being a writer and poet of his own standing. He has to his credit more than 10 collections of his poetry, editorials, biography and translations. In his literary and journalistic career spanning almost 40 years, he has bagged over 10 awards including the UNICEF award for best Documentary Film Script on Saving The Girl Child, and for his contribution to Literature from the Yogi Vemana University and the Telugu University.  He can be reached at :  devipriyatadikonda@gmail.com.

అనంతంగా
నలుదిక్కులకూ చేతులుసాచిన
ఆకాసమన్నా;

పరిపూర్ణ నదిగానో,
పదిజానలపాయగానో అయినా
ప్రవహిస్తున్న నీరన్నా;

పసిపిల్ల త్రైసికిల్ దే అయినా,
తిరుగుతున్న చక్రమన్నా;

కదిలే కలం పాళీ అన్నా;

గాలిలోకి లేచి ఎగిరే
ధూళిరేణువన్నా;

అరగంట స్లోగానే అయినా నడిచే
గోడగడియారమన్నా,

ఆగిపోయిన గుండెలాంటి
నీకన్నా

నాకెందుకో
చాలా ఇష్టం.
