నీ జడనుండి ప్రమత్తంగా

రాలిన పువ్వులా

నేను మరణించిన తర్వాత

నేను లేని లోటు నీకు తెలియదులే.

కానీ ఏదో ఒక తుఫాను రాత్రి

చలినెగడు ప్రక్క కూర్చున్నపుడు

అప్పుడే విచ్చుకుంటున్న పువ్వులా

నీ మదిలో ఎక్కడో మెదలకపోను.

నువ్వొక చిరునవ్వు నవ్వి, ఆలోచిస్తుంటావు

చేతిలోని పుస్తకాన్ని పక్కకి పెట్టి

సుదూర తీరాల్లోకి చూపులు నిలిపి

నువ్వు నెగడుకి దగ్గరగా జరుగుతావు.

Like a careless flower

Dropped from your head

But some stormy day

By some firelight hour

I’ll stir your soul

like an opening flower

You will smile and think

And let fall your book

And bend o’er the fire

with a far-off look
