ప్రజాస్వామ్యం 

భయంద్వారా, రాజీద్వారా,

ఈ రోజు కాదు, ఈ ఏడు కాదు

ఏనాటికీ 

సాధించబడదు. 

నా రెండు కాళ్ళ మీద 

నిలబడడానికీ,

కాసింత నేల కొనుక్కుందికీ

అవతలివ్యక్తికి ఎంతహక్కుందో

నాకూ అంతే హక్కు ఉంది. 

దేని సమయం దానికి కావాలి అని అందరూ

అనడం విని విని  విసిగెత్తిపోయింది. 

రేపన్నది, మరో రోజు 

నేను చచ్చిన తర్వాత 

నాకు స్వాతంత్య్రం అవసరం లేదు.

రేపటి రొట్టితిని ఈ రోజు బ్రతుకలేను.

Democracy will not come
Today, this year

through compromise and fear.
