మగవాడు తన అహాన్ని అథిగమించి
ప్రకటించేంతగా నిన్ను ప్రేమించేను గనుక,
నీకు చిరాకు కలిగించింది; ఆ ఆలోచన
విడిచిపెడతానని నీకు మాటిచ్చేను.
మనిద్దరం పెడసరంగా, ఏ స్పందనలూ లేకుండా
విడిపోయాము … భూఖండాలు మారిపోయాము.
“నన్ను మరిచిపో, శలవు,” అన్నావు నువ్వు.
“ఫర్వాలేదు, మరిచిపోగలను,” అన్నాను నేను.
భవిష్యత్తులో, నువ్వు ఈ “తెల్ల పూల”తో నిండిన
శ్మశానపు దిబ్బలమీంచి వేళ్ళే సందర్భం కుదిరితే,
ఈ మూడాకుల గరికలో ఏ పొడవాటి పువ్వూ
నిన్ను పలకరించి ఆశ్చర్యపరచకపోతే,
“ఈ హృదయం స్పందించదు” అని రాసి ఉన్న
సమాధి ఫలకం దగ్గర కాసేపు ఆగు
నిన్ను ప్రేమించిన కుర్రాడు
తనమాట నిలబెట్టుకున్నాడని ఒప్పుకో.
