మీ నీలి గౌన్లను గిరగిర తిప్పుకుంటూ, మీ బడిని
ఆనుకున్న పచ్చనిపొలాలలో నడుచుకుంటూ
మీ గురువృద్ధులు చెప్పింది వినండి పిల్లలూ; కానీ,
అందులో ఒక్కముక్కకూడా నమ్మకండి.
మీ తలకట్టు చుట్టూ తెల్లని కేశబంధాల్ని తగిలించి,
గడ్డిమీద ఎగురుకుంటూ ఉబుసుపోకమాటలు
చెప్పుకునే నీలి నీలి పిట్టల్లా
ఇక జరగబోయేదానికి ఆలోచించడం మానెయ్యండి.
ఇదిగో నీలి దుస్తుల అమ్మాయిలూ, అంతరించకమునుపే
మీ చక్కదనాన్ని సాధనచెయ్యండి. నేను పెద్ద గొంతుకతో
నలుగురికీ ప్రకటిస్తాను:దాన్ని మన అధీనంలోని సమస్త శక్తులూ
నిర్ణయించలేవని. చక్కదనం మహా దుర్బలమైనది.
ఎందుకంటే, మీకు నేనొక జరిగిన కథ చెప్తాను:
నాకు బాగా పెద్దగొంతుకపెట్టుకుని అరిచే స్త్రీ గురించి తెలుసు,
కళ్ళంట నీళ్ళతో ఆమె ఆకాశంనుండి క్రిందకి పడేది.
అతితక్కువసమయంలోనే ఆమె చక్కదనాలన్నీ కనుమరుగయేవి…
అయితేనేం, ఆమె మీలో ఎవరికన్నాకూడా చూడచక్కనిది.
