నెమ్మదిగా నడుస్తూ తీసుకుపోతున్నారు;

నేనొక అపరిచితవ్యక్తిలా అనుసరిస్తున్నాను;

వాళ్ళు అతనికి బంధువులు; నే నతని ప్రేయసిని

వాళ్ళందరూ నల్లని శోకచిహ్నమైన నలుపుదుస్తుల్లో ఉన్నా,

నేను గాఢమైన రంగులో ఉన్న నా గౌనుని మార్చలేదు;

వాళ్ళు అతనిచుట్టూ ఏ విచారమూ లేకుండా నిలుచుంటారు,

కానీ, నా పశ్చాత్తాపము నన్ను దహిస్తుంది.
