ఒంటరి సరోవరం, ఒంటరి ఒడ్డు,
చందమామకి చేరబడుతూ ఒంటరి దేవదారు వృక్షం
రాత్రల్లా రెక్కలతో సరసులో అలలు రేపుతూ
ఒంటరి నీటికాకి

చీకటిపడింది మొదలు సూర్యోదయం దాకా శోకిస్తూ
చుక్కల్ని చూస్తూ అతను ఏదో వాగుతూనే ఉన్నాడు
కల్లుపాకబల్లమీద కూచుని ఆ బైరాగి
మత్తెక్కీదాకా పొయ్యమని చట్టి తడుతూనే ఉన్నాడు.

The Loon

 .

A lonely lake, a lonely shore, 

A lone pine leaning on the moon;    

All night the water-beating wings    

Of a solitary loon.         

With mournful wail from dusk to dawn    

He gibbered at the taunting stars,— 

A hermit-soul gone raving mad,       

And beating at his bars.
