అసలు లేని వడ్డీ… రూమీ, పెర్షియన్ కవి
తినబొయేదానిమీద ఆశే, ప్రేమికుని నిలబెట్టేది;
చేతిలో రొట్టె ఉండనక్కరలేదు;
ప్రేమలో నిజాయితీ ఉన్నవాడు అస్తిత్వానికి బానిస కాడు.
ప్రేమికులకి అస్తిత్వంతో పనిలేదు.
ప్రేమికులు అసలు లేకుండా వడ్డీ గణిస్తారు.
రెక్కలులేకుండానే ప్రపంచం చుట్టివస్తారు;
చేతులు లేకుండనే, పోలోబంతిని మైదానం బయటకి కొనిపోతారు.
వాస్తవం ఆచూకీ పట్టుకోగలిగిన డార్విష్
అతని చేతులు ఖండించబడినా, బుట్టలల్లగలిగేవాడు
ప్రేమికులు తమ డేరాలని శూన్యంలో నిలబెట్టేరు
వాటి లక్షణం, గుణం రెండూ శూన్యాన్నిపోలినవే.

The lover’s food is the love of the bread;
no bread need be at hand:
no one who is sincere in his love is a slave to existence.
Lovers have nothing to do with existence;
lovers have the interest without the capital.
Without wings they fly around the world;
without hands they carry the polo ball off the field.
That dervish who caught the scent of Reality
used to weave basket even though his hand had been cut off.
Lover have pitched their tents in nonexistence:
they are of one quality and one essence, as nonexistence is.
