మంటల బావుటాల సేనలతో వేంచేసేడు

అక్కడి గాలి తెరచాపలపై వాటిని వదలగానే

నక్షత్రాల వెలుగుల్లో అవి గడ్డకట్టుకుపోయాయి.

ఇప్పుడక్కడ చల్లబడ్డ పతాకలు రెపరెపలాడుతున్నాయి

శాశ్వతంగా వేడిమికోల్పోయి, ఉత్తరధృవప్రభలుగా.
