సేవచేసేవారిని చూస్తే, ఇంకా సిగ్గునభినయిస్తూనే ఉంటుంది.

కానీ మనసులో నిశ్చింతగా ఉండే వెర్రివాడు ఎవడైనా ఉంటే

దాసోహమంటూ అతని వెంటే ఎక్కువగా తిరుగుతుంటుంది;

ఆమె ఒక సంచారిణి; ఆమె పక్కనలేకపోయినా

తృప్తిగా ఉండడం అలవాటులేనివారిని ఆమె పలకరించదు;

ఆమె ఒక మోసకత్తె…ఆమె చెవిలో ఎవరూ గుసగుసలాడరు,

ఆమె గూర్చిమాటాడేవారు అభాండాలు వేస్తున్నారని అనుకుంటుంది;

ఆమె అచ్చంగా సంచారిణే… నైలు నదీ తీరాన పుట్టింది

అసూయాపరురాలైన పోటిఫార్* భార్యకి సాక్షాత్తూ అప్పచెల్లెలే.

ఆమె ప్రేమకై తపించే కళాకారులారా! మీరు నిజంగా పిచ్చి వారు!

ఎంత గౌరవంగా వంగి నమస్కరించగలరో నమస్కరించి శలవుతీసుకొండి.

అప్పుడు, ఆమెకి నచ్చితే, మిమ్మల్ని అనుసరించి వస్తుంది.

Once when  Joseph leaves his garments behind to evade her advances, she shows the garments as evidence to claim Joseph had thrown himself upon her and gets him imprisoned.)

Fame, like a wayward girl, will still be coy   

  To those who woo her with too slavish knees,
