ఇల్లు పూర్తయేదాకా

దాని ప్రాపులు అండగా ఉంటాయి,

తర్వాత వాటిని తొలగిస్తారు…

నిటారుగా, సమర్థవంతమై  ఇల్లు 

పునాదులపై తనంతతాను నిలబడుతుంది;

బరమానీ, వండ్రంగినీ

గుర్తుచేసుకోవడం మరచి.

సంపూర్ణమైన జీవితానికి

అటువంటి సింహావలోకనం అవసరం.

బల్లచెక్కా, మేకుల గతం

తాపీగా తయారవడం, ఆధారాలు కూలిపోవడం…

అవి ఆత్మగా స్థిరపరుస్తాయి.

The props assist the house

Until the house is built,

And then the props withdraw–

And adequate, erect,

The house supports itself;

Ceasing to recollect

The auger and the carpenter.

Just such a retrospect

Affirming it a soul.
