పొద్దుపొడుపుతో మాయమైన నక్షత్రాల వెలుగులా;

డీడాల్* సృష్టించిన ఖాళీ బంగారు పాత్ర

ఎండిపోయిన పెదాలకి, గాలిని అందించి వెక్కిరించినట్టు.

One sung of thee who left the tale untold,

   Like the false dawns which perish in the bursting;

Like empty cups of wrought and daedal* gold,

   Which mock the lips with air, when they are thirsting.
