పాత కవిత్వ రూపాలు పిట్టలగూళ్ళలాంటివి
అవి ఎంతకాలంగా వాడుకలో ఉన్నాయంటే
వాటినిండా రెట్టలే; కొన్ని అరుదైన పక్షులు మాత్రమే
ఆ ద్వారాల్లోంచి దూరి లోనకీ బయటకీ రాగలవు.
అవికూడా లోపల అంత స్వేచ్ఛగా తిరగలేవు; ఏదో
పాత స్వరాలనే వర్లిస్తుంటాయి, వాటిని
ఆ కంపు ఎక్కడా తాకనైనా తాకదు. కానీ ఏం లాభం?
అవి ఆ గూళ్ళకే పరిమితమై ఉండిపోతాయి.
వాటిలోంచి ఎప్పుడైనా కూజితాలు వినవస్తాయేమోనని
చెవులు రిక్కించి వింటాయి. ఆశించినట్టు వినిపిస్తాయి కూడా.
