This Night… Nishigandha, Telugu, Indian
Effacing the last trace of cloudlets
Darkness congeals.
Jasmines of the sky blossom one after another
Whether to trade few pleasantries
Or to pursue the dreams adrift
Deftly sieging the swoons of
Cheery butterflies within the bungled hands
I must gently introduce him soundlessness…
Leaving the shards of memories,
The remotest dreams,
And the toils of the day
For themselves for the moment
I long to live this night!
Instead of coursing through within
I must move off from myself…
Shredding and strewing
The immutable gravity of fears
And must float lighter and lighter…
As the chalky design in the fore yard,
That lay snug all through the day
Started pandiculating
For the occasional whiff of breeze…
I must initiate into my ABC’s for a while
With the Coral Jasmines
Scattered through the yard.
Throwing open the blinds of heartaches
I must kiss him
For five minutes …in the least …
And introduce this gentle night!
Under the breezy skies
The wild flowers scissor the winds…
A hearty touch caresses the palm
And there it is…
The warmth left by the lamp just extinguished …
A reassurance for this night!!!
But
Before a dash of light dabs me to waking
I must live this night to my heart’s content!!!
