The Sky… Prasuna, Telugu, Indian
The sky is
a great painter
who draws upon herself
umpteen self-portraits!
To the sky
tired of baby-sitting
the Sun during the day, and
the Moon at night,
God shall permit a night off
only on the new moon day.
Yet,
The sky shall not rest
but loses herself in gossip
gathering all stars about her…
even as the night
tries to lull her to sleep
under its shroud.

ఆకాశం …
ఆకాశం గొప్ప
చిత్రకారిణి
తన మీద తనే
ఎన్ని చిత్రాలు గీసుకుంటుందో .
—-
పగలంతా సూర్యుడినీ
రేయంతా చంద్రుడినీ
ఆడించి అలసిపోయే
ఆకాశానికి
అమావాస్య పూట మాత్రమే
సెలవిస్తాడు దేవుడు .
—
రాత్రి తన కొంగు కప్పి
చల్లగా జోకొడుతున్నా
నిద్రపోదు ఆకాశం.
చుక్కలన్నిటినీ పోగేసి
కబుర్లేసుకుంటుంది.
