ఈడ్చుకుంటూ నడిచి మురికిచేసే ఈగ కాళ్ళలా
ఈ కాగితం మీద నా కొంచెపు మాటలు పాకురుతున్నాయి.
ఒక్(Oak) చెట్టు ఆకుల్లో వెలిగిపోతున్న
చంద్రుడుగురించి నీకేమి చెప్పను?
ఈ కటిక నేలగురించీ,
నిలకడలేని కిటికీతలుపులు గురించి ఏమి రాయను?

వెన్నెల ఇక్కడ ఒలికిపోయిందా?
నీ చిరు కోపాలూ, ముఖం ముడుచుకోడాలూ
ఏవీ ఆ విరబూచిన “హాథార్న్” పూలలో లేవు.
నా చేతిక్రింద కన్నెస్వచ్ఛమైన ఈ కొత్త కాగితం
నున్నగా,రెపరెపలాడుతూ,
కళతప్పి కనిపిస్తోంది.

ప్రియతమా! నేను అలసిపోయాను
నీ లేమికి రగులిపోతున్న ఈ హృదయంతో;
దాన్ని చిన్న చిన్న సిరాచుక్కలుగా పిండి
రాయడం ఇక నావల్ల కాకుండా ఉంది.
ఈ పున్నమి చంద్రుడు రగిలిస్తున్న మంటలకి
ఒంటరిగా,నేను బొబ్బలెక్కిపోతున్నాను.

ఎజ్రాపౌండ్ ప్రభావానికి లోనై, అమెరికను కవిత్వంలో “ఇమేజిజం”కి నాయకత్వం వహించిన ఏమీలోవెల్, అమెరికన్ ఇమేజిజం కవుల సంకలనం 1915 లో తన సంపాదకత్వంలో తీసుకు వచ్చింది. ఆమెకి జాన్ కీట్స్ అత్యంత ప్రీతిపాత్రమైన కవి. 1925లో అతని జీవిత చరిత్ర రాసింది కూడా. ఆమెకి ఆ సంవత్సరంలోనే తన కవితా సంకలనం “What’s a Clock కి పులిట్జరు బహుమతికూడా వచ్చింది.

Little cramped words scrawling all over
the paper
Like draggled fly’s legs,
What can you tell of the flaring moon
Through the oak leaves?
Or of my uncertain window and the
bare floor
Spattered with moonlight?
Your silly quirks and twists have nothing
in them

And this paper is dull, crisp, smooth,

American Poet, Critic, Lecturer.
A Dome of Many Colored Glass was her first collection of poetry published in October 1912. She was deeply influenced by Ezra Pound’s the imagist movement and edited an anthology of Imagist poets in US in 1915. Keats was her favorite poet and she collected his letters. She published a biography of Keats in 1925. The same year she won the Pulitzer prize for her What’s A Clock.
